Violence Prevention Integrator

​

Managed all aspects of a complex and robust primary prevention approach to violence prevention. Responsible for the planning and executing of awareness months, Wing Violence Prevention Training, and other ad hoc activities. Works directly with behavioral and mental health administrators to identify and recognize trends and analysis as they happen. Compiles and reports on findings to integrated delivery teams. Subject-Matter expert on all violence-related issues to the Wing.

Lead Preparedness Planner

Managed all aspects of a complex planning section, including Volunteer Management, Logistics Coordination, and Pandemic Planning.  Reported directly to Preparedness Section Chief and serve as his/her subject matter expert on preparedness planning activities, volunteer management, and logistics activities.  Subject matter expert for the Department of Health’s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and the All-Hazards Response Plan. Created the Pandemic Response Annex and the Community Mitigation annexes of the All-Hazards Response Plan for the State of Arkansas. Collected, reviewed, evaluated, and interpreted data to ensure programs produced the desired outcomes. Identified, documented, and assessed the needs and risk factors of programs. Worked with partners and state agency experts to ensure efficient tracking of trends and forecasting to promote effective preparedness practices. Served as the Emergency Operation Center Manager for the COVID-19 Response. Recommended changes to leadership based on best practices and protective factors. Prepared, managed, executed, and reported to higher Agency Leadership about the assigned programs and or / participated as directed by management. Created, staffed, and published standards related to volunteer management under State laws and regulations. Completely managed the volunteer program for the agency totaling over 1,500 personnel, as well as managed eight Medical Reserve Corps units.

Volunteer Program Manager

Served as the Volunteer Program Manager overseeing all aspects of volunteer management for the Arkansas Department of Health.  Managed eight Medical Reserve Corps units and approximately 1,500 healthcare volunteers. Received an input volunteer applications for background checks and verification of medical credentials.  Wrote and reviewed policy and MOUs and gathered and analyzed volunteer utilization and needs data. Responsible for the overall readiness and activation of State Medical Volunteers. Ensured proper training and guidance for all volunteers. Supported efforts to support local communities and agency partners during the flooding event of 2019 in Arkansas. Coordinated responses to Nuclear, Biological, or Chemical responses involving medical volunteers. Identified at-risk populations and populations with special needs. Built relationships within the community to support volunteer efforts in a natural disaster or catastrophic event. Worked to support local communities through volunteer efforts outside of catastrophic events and natural disasters such as Holly Grove, AR. Provided emergency response kits and a generator to the city of Holly Grove, AR, for the sustainment of citizens due to geographic isolation from major cities in the event of natural disaster.

Suicide Prevention Program Manager

Served as the Suicide Prevention Program Manager with the responsibility for the overall planning, developing, coordination, implementation, and promotion of a comprehensive and effective Suicide Prevention program aimed at providing primary prevention and reduction of high-risk behaviors in Service Members. Member of the Governor's Council for Suicide Prevention to identify redundancies and voids within programs and services by evaluating community needs and assessing existing programs within Arkansas. The administrator of the Community Health Promotion Council with NGAR Director of Joint Staff to identify redundancies and voids within programs and services by evaluating community needs, assessing existing programs, and coordinating targeted interventions to enhance the quality of life for all Airmen, Soldiers, Family Members, Retirees, and Civilians. Ensured a collaboration of effort among different military and civilian offices and programs in the State of Arkansas to increase communication and share resources. Participated and contributed to the Little Rock Air Force Base Community Action Board and the Community Action Team as a representative of the Arkansas National Guard. Developed policy, procedures, and methodologies for commanders to assist them in reducing the probability and severity of high-risk behaviors through a partnership with the Alcohol and Drug Control Officer and through reviews of the Unit Risk Inventories to survey the unit's needs. Prepared and delivered oral presentations, including briefings, speeches, and training sessions to civilian and military audiences in resilience, suicide intervention, suicide awareness, and community outreach efforts. Co-wrote and published the Adjutant General's Suicide Prevention Policy and the Adjutant General’s Serious Incident Reporting Procedure for Suicide for Arkansas Air and Army Guard. Monitored and advised AR ARNG counterpart on suicide prevention budget. Also assisted in developing and implementing a yearly training plan for executing the budget.

Supervised the setup of a physics experiment. Maintained and ensured equipment was up-to-standard and functioning properly. Sterilized and cleaned scientific instruments to ensure readiness.

 

Arkansas Army National Guard             
State Resilience Coordinator- Joint Services Support

​

Served as State Resilience Coordinator. Created the State's Resilience Operation Order, reviewed policies related to Resilience and Suicide, and coordinated and planned all training for the AR ARNG. Served as the State Subject-matter-expert for Resiliency. Advised commanders and Major Subordinate Commands about the integration of resilience training and potential outcomes. Coordinated and managed quarterly R3SP council meetings. Developed and co-authored the R3SP Campaign Plan for the Arkansas National Guard. Co-author of the TAG's policy of destigmatization of help-seeking behavior.

Served as a Firefighter/EMT responding to citizens and properties in distress within the city. Worked to build community relationships and continuously serve and protect the citizens of the city of Auburn, Alabama.
